Whereas buildings are solid, firm structures, this series draws forms out from the established constructions and breaks them down into ‘fragments’, graphic sculptural objects, repurposed through the use of abstraction, to speak of architectural skeletal forms hinting towards a manifest of emptiness, loneliness, like relics of a past civilisation yet based in the present.
Through the use of the blemished imprint of the chemical ‘negative’ of Polaroid 669 pack film and conversion of the scan to grayscale, distortion and a darker dystopian, futuristic setting was enabled, furthermore enhancing an atmosphere of uncertainty and insecurity.
